Our excellent adventures!

Foxy and little Miss with their rocket ship!
So I've been a little quiet lately and I've been extremely busy between being a mum, wife, student and a lazy bum I've found that I've been occupied with many different things. So this morning I decided to do some fun things with my beautiful little girl before she gets to the 'I'm too old to do that' phase..

We received a parcel this morning and since our business probably won't ever use the box the stock came in I decided to let her have it to imagine something fun! I told her look here's a boat for you thinking yea that sounds good until she turned around and said "no mummy it's a rocket ship!" So we spent the morning waiting for the plumber by making a cardboard box rocket ship!

Once it was made I went about some quick chores that needed to be done before I sit down to write my assignment up for one of my classes. She loved the makeshift rocket ship so much!

Once the plumber arrived I was advised that they needed to turn the power off to the entire house causing me to stop my assignment writing on the computer to trying to work out something for us to do whilst we were technology free... What better idea than to make rose Apple bite! So we chopped the apples and got them ready for the microwave.

Surprisingly enough they were ready to go when the plumber told us that everything should be fixed now! So into the microwave went the apples!

All little miss wanted to do though was lick her fingers because of how delicious those apples were once they were ready for the pastry!

So they were layered onto our pastry with cinnamon sprinkled on them. We then cut strips as we went with our pizza cutter, folded the pastry over and proceeded to roll them out!

And then voila we had our roses!

So while they're in the oven I am back to my assignment and she is busy watching some Disney junior before we start to get ready for dance classes!

Some Delicious Rose Apple Bites!

Our crazy birthday weekend and miss Liah's frozen themed party!

It has been some time since miss C's birthday party but I still wanted to post this about our crazy weekend of parties and a few ideas for those considering letting their children have a frozen themed party. Most of the blogs I've found that give hints and tips about frozen themed parties are all professionally done. Well I'm here to show you how we did ours on a fairly tight budget!

So to begin with we purchased the decorations you see hanging from our carport most we hung across our line and we made extra lengths of string going from each end of the under cover area to place a few extra decorations around. These are pretty simple to find and they don't cost a fortune I use birthday in a box for most of my items they have large catering pieces that include plates cutlery and even decorations for a half decent cost! Yes they're US but they ship to Australia and it's great when you have places like birthday in a box for when you can't find what you are looking for in the store!

It's really easy to find what you're looking for in regards to decorations when you know how to use google. Be exact when using Google you don't have to be brief I search entire sentences on occasions and am able to find things extremely easily!

If you've read my previous post, then you know I had issues with a company that isn't to be named and had to find a replacement at the last minute! Well check out my replacement which ended up being a whopping double the size of the original I had booked!

The kids had so much fun on the jumping castle they didn't want to play any games to win prizes!!

We had such an amazing time and all the parents and kids had a ball!

There were a few things that we had, to make the day stand out for everyone as most of my friends and family know I sew and I sew a lot! So instead of paying heaps towards banners and lolly bags I made our own! So miss C's birthday started as though you were attending the princesses coronation! We adorned the walk way with banners from the movie which I am proud to say we sewed, dyed and printed ourselves! This is something I've been wanting to do for so long! And am willing to offer sewing services for parties to anyone who is interested!

Yes there were more than just two of these adorning our walkway! I also made lolly bags out of canvas for the kids to take home and reuse! It's a great way to teach your kids about recycling and reusing items and the feedback I got from all of the mums who attended and received the bag was that their kids love it and refuse to leave it alone they take it to dance class and even to the shops as their "shopping bags"! Which is the exact reason why we made them! -cue appreciation to my friend Peter for the help in making so many of these!-
Aren't they gorgeous?! We made so many of these and we made them in the purple/blue and green!
So not only did we have all of the above but we even went a step further by getting a "Snow" machine! This was definitely a hit with the kids they wouldn't move away at any point the entire time it was on!

And I know what you're all asking but "What about the cake Laura?". Well I got my inspiration from many things. To begin with google (my best friend honestly). I found a whole pile of castle cakes ranging from frozen themed ones to just simple castles in general. As you've guessed it Miss Liah wanted the frozen castle. So with google at hand I also sought after other ideas of how to approach this, and inspiration hit when I saw an ad on facebook (yes an ad on facebook, I know how annoying right?) it was for the disney cakes magazine/book. After purchasing it I came up with the incredible!! Well I think it was pretty incredible let me know what you think...

Everyone loved the cake three tiers of deliciousness and it was pretty much all gone for once! Which is a miracle usually there's not enough food and too much cake left over!! Well that's what it's like for me anyway.

And as the title states it was a crazy weekend beginning with Liah's Birthday! We had two more parties to go to the day after as well as a 21st birthday party the night before!! And here is the craziness of the rest of the weekend surrounding Liah's day!

So the 21st was good fun we danced and everyone else drank as I was designated driver... The main images I have on hand are from when the ST**PPER came and did an awkward dance with the birthday girl and her mum? So I'll move on to the kids parties the day after Liah's party.

So we started out on Sunday morning getting ready for one of Liah's friends parties, Miss R.

She had a McDonald's party which was exactly what I wanted to do last year and it was nice to have somewhere catered too it would have made my life 100% easier. Let's cross our fingers for a McDonald's party this year!

Afterwards well right after Miss R's party finished we rushed over to Miss S's. Where we actually played proper games and won some awesome prizes! Check out the images below for Miss S's frozen themed party! Ohh and by the way all three of these kids parties were Frozen themed YAY! *not*

Finally this is up I can stop stressing every time I read a blog hehe

Camera Obscura Fun

So as most know I have returned to full time studies n the form of a diploma in Visual Arts!

Last week in my photography class we spoke about a Camera Obscura aka a Pin hole camera and it intrigued me more so than anything else last week. However what intrigued me the most was the fact that you can do this to any room in your house as long as it has a window and is able to be removed of all light!

With this in mind I was on a mission I wanted to see this myself and work out how this works for myself! So what did we do on the weekend??? You guessed it made a camera obscura in my house specifically mine and hubby's bedroom.

So we set to work getting the supplies we needed;
  • Gaf tape
  • Thick garbage bags
  • Scissors
  • DSLR camera
  • And a sunny day!
So little miss and I set up my room with the thick garbage bags and taping everything off as we went. Once the entire window was covered (please note that if you have more than one window in your seal-able room you must cover this one completely also) we closed the door and blocked out as much light as we could from the door and looked for leaks of light coming through the plastic and rightfully patched them up with the gaf tape.

Once this was done we chose the spot for our pin hole or in our "camera" our 1cm wide hole in our plastic and cut out the so called hole. I did note that we didn't actually have a perfect circle for our hole which suited us but if you are a perfectionist please feel free to cut this out in your own way.

Now that the window is covered and our "pinhole" created we closed the door, killed the lights and put towels/blankets to get rid of the light from below the door and waited.
At first it was really intense and Liah and I were feeling the pressure of our creation worrying that it won't work. After a few moments of our eyes adjusting though, the outside world started to adjust to our walls only upside down! Which is exactly how the Camera Obscura works! If we happened to have a 'lens' it would be clearer.

This is where your DSLR camera comes in set that baby up on a tripod or if you can't find your tripod like myself find a shelf, table or some form of hard surface in which your camera will not move and set your settings to a long exposure adjusting the other settings as you see fit to capture the image you are wanting and photograph the hell out of this magic!

I do need to warn everyone though, I was expecting perfectly clear images on my walls with amazing colours etc however to the naked eye you will just make out the shadows and anything that is extremely light in colour outside ie you will see that white car parked on the street or that white fence across the road. Also DO NOT hesitate to go up closer to get a better look it may help you see everything clearer.

After a while we didn't want to leave the room we watched the birds fly from the trees to the electricity lines and the cars drive past it was short lived though as our tummies started grumbling signalling that we had spent over 3 hours in my bedroom rejoicing at our creation!

For those who think their kids are too young, Liah is 4 years old, I'd say 3 and under wouldn't really sit there for it unless you have a miracle child who is obsessed with new discoveries!

Let me know what you guys think! I'd love to hear that someone else has done this after reading my blog and if you do feel the itch to do this please, please, please send me links to pics, blogs etc and in saying that if you have any problems recreating this please feel free to message me on my facebook business page Liah's Toy Box.

Birthday Celebrations 2014

So it was Miss C's Birthday this past week and we celebrated with a Frozen Themed Birthday Party for her. Was it a surprise that she chose frozen as a theme? Nope she's obsessed as is every other child I know of! We had such big plans and most of them came through! With that said let me tell you what happened!

We had so much planned as usual I ordered most of my decorations online, as I do every year, to save us the hassle of trying to find what I was after and not succeeding. We organised a frozen jumping castle and fairy floss, we sorted a small number of games and had a few extra tricks up our sleeves for the kids!

Decorations as usual is always the easiest things to work out, jumping castles on the other hand for a September birthday party is another thing though so we had the Castle organised months in advance.

So it would come as a shock to me to get a phone call at 6pm on a Friday afternoon the day before Miss C's birthday party and being told that the jumping castle I had booked was "damaged" that day. Ok with this in mind I have two things to say....
  1. Who would hire a jumping castle on a Friday for a party when we know most parents work their butts off during the week and have no way of getting their child to a party. And,
  2. What type of company am I dealing with if they couldn't even organise a replacement castle for me prior to calling me?!
To say I was furious is an understatement. Not only did I have my sister's 21st birthday to get to in 30 minutes I now had to find a replacement castle for my daughter's birthday party as I had only two games organised relying heavily on the castle to keep them entertained! I spent the next two hours (never hearing from the company with my so called 'damaged' castle after I had asked for a replacement) I ended up calling a multitude of companies with jumping castle's all in the hopes that someone would have SOMETHING for her party!

I spoke with one large company I usually hire from and they had nothing however they were able to provide me with quite a few other vendors who may be able to help me. I was informed by every single company that I called, about this problem occurring constantly in the jumping castle industry and most of them are called at least once a week with this happening. And the main reason behind it is not that the castle is damaged as it takes a LOT to damage one, it is because another customer has wanted the very castle you've booked and has offered more money to have it delivered to them instead. Now how is this fair for the parents who are diligent and hire in advance and the multitude of children who have had their hopes up for this castle for their party only to have their happiness crushed by money hungry pop up companies!

After being on the phone, not ready for my sister's 21st, and running around like a nut we found someone who had a Disney princess castle available! We were worried whether it would fit in our backyard but in the end Bethanie's Jumping Castles saved the day! Coming to the rescue and managing to fit the castle perfectly into our yard! Here's a link to my life savers webpage so if you are in Sydney Australia you know who you need to be calling for a castle!

I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for Bethanie's Jumping Castle's and honestly I recommend that everyone wanting to hire Jumping Castle's to do their research. Call these people and if you can't find a phone number move on. Even if they're offering amazing prices, chances are they're not worth the saving as you end up losing your deposit with them and you end up wasting your time, time that you could be spending with family or spent making things for the party coming soon. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the chance of losing a crucial part of your child's party and the stress it causes trying to find a replacement.

I hope this blog entry finds it's way to many mum's and dad's and helps in regards to this issue. If this has happened to you in the past please feel free to comment or message me about you're experiences!

I'll do up another post real soon with all of the ideas and tricks that we had for the party real soon!

A little rant...

I'm over it. It's been driving me mad and now this, this is the last straw. Every time I have my m.i.l over without me home she cleans my entire house even if it was already tidy! Sounds great doesn't it? Well no. You know those old bottles of water you save so you can refill them freeze them or fill them to take out with you? You know the ones that you have out aside to refill when you have a chance and they're not in the way at all... Yea those... She threw every single one in the bin and took it out TO the bin!

Not only that but I couldn't find where she decided to move my shoes! Please it's my house I have the shoes away hidden away from anyone visiting but she had to move them nonetheless...

Argh!! To top it off I have no clue where my daughters shoes are either... Nor do I know where she moved everything in the kitchen... For all I know she's swapped the cupboards around...

Why guys, why do m.i.l's do this she knows its my house she knows I have everything placed specifically she knows that I've asked her not to clean my house when I'm not home and move things to where she thinks they're better to go to...

I'm just so over it... Everything seems to have gotten me down at the moment and I don't know how to get out of it.. I just wanna scream my lungs out at anyone and everyone but what will that achieve..

Wishing I could be more positive right now but it's feeling impossible... =(

A little stuck with something...

So my daughter has been going to a dance school for the entire year now and she is loving it more than I thought she would! It seems to be her thing and she just doesn't stop! Have you ever seen an almost 3 year old try to do contemporary dance routines?? Neither had I until I had to bring her to my dance school as I had no one to look after her while I had a class!

As she watched me in my contemporary class she was over on the side lines with one of the girls that do not do the contemporary class. When I looked over while watching my teacher show us the routine I noticed she was copying him too! The principal of the dance school noticed this also and offered her a place in her tiny tots class next year! Which would be perfect as I then will only need to pay for one dancing DVD and only attend one concert at the end of the year.

But here is my predicament. She's currently dancing with her friend from preschool on a Saturday this year and the new class at my dance school will be on a Monday and not with her closest friend from school. I'd much rather only go to one concert each year but should I take her away from her current dance school and from her friend so that we can dance together at the same school?

It's such a hard decision and at least I have some time to think about it as classes won't start for next year until the 2014 school year starts!

Argh! Sigh.. Well I better get going and get ready for my dance class which starts soon!

I need to go out dancing!!

I am dying here people lmao (not literally of course) but I have been wanting to go out dancing ever since I came back from my honeymoon!! I would do almost anything JUST to get out and dance like a crazy drunken woman lmfao!

There's just something about clubbing that helps me to de-stress and feel good about myself! It's nice to get out with friends and have an amazing night of dancing and a fair amount of drinking! (Drink responsibly y'all! And if you're under age you shouldn't be at all!) I think it's fair to say that I miss my usual suspects! Missing the sister, the bestie, the sisters from another mumma and those fabulous people I've met along my clubbing journey!

I just really miss them all and not to mention the clubs I usually go to! The atmosphere is so eccentric and lively you just never want to leave PLUS once you're in there your sense of time stays at the door! I'm really hoping I get a few of my usual suspects with me on my so far planned crazy night with a new friend celebrating his birthday! And I'm crossing my fingers that it happens! Well hoping at least for a text reply from one of them saying "hell yea!"

I really hated being sick and coupes up in my house its time to party (pronounced as pahrtay)!

Anyways I should probably catch up on my sleep if I'm hoping to stay awake next weekend lmao!!!

Night all !! Xox

Wedding stress and dieting..

I can't stand diets I like to eat what I want when I want and not have to deal with calorie or kilojule counting. It's been driving me mad!! I want to lose the weight for the wedding don't get me wrong but how does one go about exercising with a 2 year old and a wedding to finalise?! I'm at the point where I'm about to give up and hope for the best with my healthy eat at home thing only..

Wedding plans are well underway and all the final touches are being added so stress levels are at an all time high! Everyone keeps telling me I'll lose weight stressing out but is that really the case? I might just go speak with the doctor and see what he says huh?

Anyways I'm off I suppose..

Life's greatest pleasures... Not.

Life's greatest pleasures... Not.

So toilet training has been killing me lately! My daughter is doing so well and then she goes backwards! But they say that is the process with toilet training it's one step forward two steps back...

******WARNING********
May contain gruesome content...
******WARNING********

So tonight I thought oh great she's doing so well! She understands this potty/toilet thing well! Until only a few minutes ago...

So I went to the bathroom and told her as much she came with me (as always.. Never alone to do your business) she turns around to me and says oh no mummy I need to do wees too! So I call out to my fiancé and he brings up her potty so she doesn't have an accident on the bathroom floor! She does her wee and all of a sudden decides to do a poo too! I am so proud of her at this stage, and who knew you'd ever be so proud of a number two in a potty in your life right?!

So I tell her well done good job you did poos! And she looks pleased I turn around to grab the paper to wipe her when she says look mummy! I turn to see her touching her poo! Omg! I couldn't believe my eyes! Calling out to my fiancé we finally wash her hands vigorously with tonnes of soap and I am at a loss with how to explain that poos aren't good to touch... Since you have to praise the poo how do you then tell her in an authoritative tone that touching poos is just not on!

ARGH!! Again as I said one step forward two steps back!

Anyway until the next gruesome moment I'm out!

Night all!

Waitin

So I'm all ready to head out... Gotta love Oxford Street!! But I'm out the front of a friends place, waiting... Waiting for him to get ready and for the other two on their way to where I am to actually arrive..

I hate waiting... Especially when you've exhausted all of your boredom busting options including apps and games on the phone...

So waiting is all I can do now... It's kinda boring lmao!!! But I can't play any more games on my phone to try and save battery life!! Argh!

Anyways I don't want to be rambling constantly about 'waiting' so I'm off to e bored once more lol!!

Signing off!!

Been Reminicsing

I've been reminiscing about last year lately... When all of my friends were around and we were never out of contact. Heck all of us were on Facebook.

I'm really missing my friends lately.. Yea I have the love of my life and my beautiful little girl but I miss having my friends around too! We used to hang out almost every single day! We'd go shopping, go to an el cheapo lunch cause we couldn't afford anything else.. We'd miraculously have money to buy things for ourselves and we went clubbing on a regular basis on a budget, cause all we really wanted to do was dance all night long.

One of my amazing friends has such a beautiful family happening in her life and I'm so happy to see her so happy too! She's almost always replying back to my messages on Facebook and in txt that we end up txting for hours! And about random stuff half the time too!!! I'm missing you so much Hun, you don't know how much I'd kill just to go out fake wedding dress hunting with you again lmao!!! Back when we were looking forward to getting an engagement ring on our fingers and hadn't yet gotten it! We so totally knew it was going to happen with the boys we were with! It was so much fun getting up to mischief with you and I hope next year that, that is something we can wok toward!!! I'm missing you so much! Mwa!! Xox (or should I say cox) lmao!

Another of my friends I'm missing is one that I am so close to. One who knows so much about me and me about him. Some things I think would have been better to be left 'in the closet' than said out loud to me... *ahem* yes there is such thing as WAYYYYYYY too much information!! We used to see each other every single day! Without fail!! And I'd annoy the crap out of you waking you up before your alarm is anywhere near the time you set it to! We'd go shopping with whatever little money we had and we'd and we'd miraculously come up with more money in some way! We went shopping so often and clubbing every second weekend without fail! Even when we missed the train we'd find another way! Just so we could go and dance at our fave club!! I don't know how but you forced me to grow up and become so much more mature about things and I don't remember that happening at all!! I'm missing you so much babe that you don't understand. I want you back on Facebook so I can at least have an alternate way of contacting you, and it'd be nice if you replied to messages as often as you used to. Miss you Hun! Xox <3

My other amazing friends are my sisters... My real blood sister and the one friend I've known for so very long that we deemed to be our sister! Plus she looks like us! Lol! I love you both so much!!! And I really wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't have you both!

On that note I really don't know what I'd do without anyone I've mentioned in this blog! I mean honestly I'd be in hell if I had never met you lot!

I'm missing you all so very much. My sisters not so much lol! Since I see you guys fairly often! I'm beside myself not knowing how to get us to go out more often!! I'm dying to have a drunken night out even if its just at mounties?! Here's hoping that I see you soon.

Sorry if this post doesn't make much sense... It's late, I'm starting to feel sleepy, and I'm just wishing to see my friends more often!

Down in the Dumps and Yet Excited.

Hi Hi all,

I haven't had much of a chance to write on here lately, with so much happening I've been soooo busy! I'm loving my new job so much that I'd rather be at work when I'm sick than at home resting. Honestly I'm ecstatic that I'm in the industry I love again! Oh how I've missed thee Event Industry!

Besides working I've been wedding and Birthday planning... Wedding plans are pretty much at the top of the priorities list but this month has been 2nd Birthday party plans... It's annoying though that I can't organise everything in advance for her party though unlike weddings.

So my daughter's 2nd Birthday Party is going to be a Fairy Princess & Lost Boys Dress up Party! I'm so excited I love birthday parties for kids so much that I was a children's entertainer for some time after high school. I even used to make cakes for family and friends for their little ones or brothers/sisters. I really enjoy it to be honest...

So in regards to my gorgeous little girl's birthday I've decided to try and keep it as healthy as possible, with a few exceptions of course...

Party Bags

Just using simple bags bought from the local major shopping centre to prevent too much work. Filling them with small tubs of play dough, a small handful of lollies (need a few of these at least) Some mini slinkies, bubbles, bracelets and fairy wands.. There are more girls than boys at this party so should be understandable right?

Special Gifts

So each child will be getting a ribbon wand as you would have seen in my previous blog post and I'm hoping to be well enough to sew some peter pan hats Inspiration and thanks to sew in harmony.

Games & Things to do

So our backyard is sooooooooo tiny we wouldn't be able to fit 5 children let alone parents too?! So we've opted for the 'Booking a picnic location' at a park. The location we've acquired is right nest to the playground too so that in itself is something for the kids to do. We have booked a facepainter for 2 or so hours as my daughter absolutely loved getting her face painted earlier in the year. I'm hoping to buy a pullstring pinata soon so they can each do that too. As most of the children will be around the age of two there isn't many games they can really play without getting easilly bored so playground was a must.

Decorations

Decoration wise, I will be pulling the ribbon wands open to make them flow through the breeze (hopefully) to decorate the area before each child will take them away. We are getting a bubble machine too which is exciting especially when kids that age love bubbles. Oh yes and it isn't a party without helium balloons so those will be just as present as the other things.

Food

So on the food front I was thinking BBQ something easy that all the kids and parents will love. Some cordials for the kids or poppers, and soft drinks for parents of course with tonnes of water. As snacks I will be making little cupcakes with rainbow belt lollies over the top making them look like a rainbow on top of the cupcake. I can't remember who showed these to me or where I saw them but thank you for such an inspiring idea! I also saw this post by my bride story in regards to a fruit and veggie bar! I thought it was brilliant and since it's spring down here I thought fruit is a definite winner with 2 year olds I cannot begin to explain my daughter's love of fruit and veggies so when I saw this I knew it was a burst of inspiration so thank you my bride story for such an amazing idea!

Cake

The inspiration for the cake came from no other but Wilton I am really looking forward to giving this a try I am so excited to be making my princess a castle for her birthday cake! Wish me luck!

Now to the reason why I am down in the dumps... I've been bed ridden for almost a week now. I am dying to get back to work I miss it... It turns out that I need a CT Scan of my back/neck as I may have slipped a disc in my spine or moved my facet joint in my spine. I am so over being in pain... And the above was a welcome escape for a little while. And it's all good to JUST be suffering in pain but to have a head cold as well where every cough turns into murder is not fun. I have been having coughing fits and everything and I am just sick and tired of having the pain in my neck, back, shoulder, arm and thumb. I can barely move and sleeping is non existent... I'm at the point where I just want them to fix me already. I have too much that I need to do and this unable to move and constant pain is not fair. Each day I think maybe I should just check myself into the hospital at least then they'd be able to help me sleep and get better.

Not even the pain meds are helping... They clear my headache pretty quick but apart from that I am still suffering. I wish it would just go away I am so over it. At least the above is something to look forward to, that is if I'm better enough to actually finish it.

Anyways I'm off. going to try and get out of this chair... And walk hopefully it'll be over with soon.

In pain, suffering and yet in fairly good spirits anyway.

Of Ribbon Wands and Birthday Parties

So my little girl turns 2 in September and me being the event organiser/crazy person I've started organising everything early. In my eyes earlier the better as you never know what could happen should you leave things to the last minute.

We've decided on a Fairy Princess and Lost Boys Theme, I was torn since I have such a teenie tiny backyard so I've had to go all out and hire a location at the park. It was a half decent price to be honest and I'm quite happy we have the park for the entire day too So from morning when it opens to the afternoon when it closes so it will give us plenty of time to work everything out.

I think a few people think I'm insane organising a 2 year old's birthday party 2 - 3 months in advance, but being in the event industry I don't see the harm! Not only am I organising her birthday but a wedding for early next year too! I think it's in my nature... I've decided no set games... we'll have a face painter, lots of bubbles been blown from a bubble machine, a pull String pinata, Balloons, Peter Pan Hats, and ribbon wands. The last two hand made =)

So far I've got the wands complete. They are quite easy to make and not too expensive... Plus it's a good party bag gift considering Lollies will equal hyper 2 year olds which I don't think I could handle...

If you want help in how to make these gorgeous wands feel free to ask =)

Once I've worked out the Peter Pan Hats with some help of hopefully another wonderful Young mum I will be able to show the world those too! Wish me luck!

I'm really relieved that I have a lot of my daughter's birthday party complete... I mean imagine how insanely stressed I'd be should I have left everything to the last minute right?

Been busy

So I've gotten a full time job and that's got me well full time !! I'm loving my job finally out of retail and back into the event industry whoop!!

My daughter has been amazing adjusting to preschool/early learning centre in a full time situation so well!!! She's even gotten to the point where she wants to be like the older kids using the big toilet!! I mean she's almost two and she's telling me that she needs to go or that she already has!

She did do a wee in the toilet this morning and I am so proud of her!!

NICKI MINAJ!

I saw Nicki Minaj last night!! Got trampled on in the moshpit and woulda been right at the front since I had a VIP upgrade but was a good friend and waited! =D

The show was awesome! Nicki was beautifully gorgeous and as I would have imagined she'd be! Afterwards as a VIP upgrader I got to meet Nicki! I adore her so much! Her songs are amazing and if you listen closely all of her songs have a deeper meaning!

I was a little disappointed when her manager was being horrible we could only choose one thing to be signed and we couldn't even go to her while she signed it! I handed my VIP laminate across and the signing process seemed to be so rushed that the holographic side of my laminate was signed and rubbed off. I was so upset.

Nicki ended up foiling their plans though when she opened the blinds and window to where we were sitting and called out to us! The security guy called back saying they were bringing us in little groups when she said NO I want all of my barbz in here! She even blew me a kiss! =D

I told her all about my little princess loving her songs and dancing to starships in the car! She was absolutely elevated by the idea and said "Bless her soul! Give her kisses from me!" We took a photo and then I asked her to sign my boob Yeap got my boob signed! I mean I had my laminate signed and they wouldn't resign anything so what else was I gonna do?! I have a whole pile of pics of my signed chest =D I'll upload soon hehehe

All in all I had such an amazing night! I only wish her manager wasn't so crude! Nicki though was an amazingly beautiful soul and I wish her all the best with her career! LOVE YOU NICKI MINAJ!

Waiting...

I'm so excited at the moment for two main reasons the first is that within 9 days there will be exactly 1 year until I get married!!! And that finally my fiance has decided on who his groomsmen will be! It's taken him over a year just to tell me his second groomsman and when I put a deadline on him I finally got the other two, so four altogether since he knew who'd be his best man! Now it's just a matter of having him ask them all! GAH!!! Yeah a year sounds like a lot of time and that maybe I shouldn't have put such a deadline on him but I would really like his groomsmen to know that he'd like to have them in the wedding party so they have the money to be able to pay for everything they'll need! Fair enough right??

Anyways the second and the thing I'm most excited about this year since it'll be happening soon is NICKI MINAJ!!! I absolutely love her and I so cannot wait to meet her!!! Yes I did just say MEET her since I have a VIP Upgrade which includes a meet and greet!!! I am so excited!! I cannot wait I've been counting down for ages now! 8 days to go til I meet you Nicki!!!

I am a little upset though.. As a really good friend of mine who is coming with me next Wednesday has just told me he's getting a cough and on the weekend he'd hurt himself at work! It's driving me mad that he won't take at least one day off to recuperate! I mean it's hard enough working 6 days a week!!!

Not only is all of this happening but another really good friend of mine is going into the hospital soon for an operation! I hope all goes well and it's a success for her! Love ya!

So I'm not going to make this a long long entry as you can see I could probably go on and on about everything but I have my little princess to look after who has just finished her breakfast of cornflakes! I might end up reblogging when she goes down for a nap though!

Anywho Ciao for now!

Deeply Saddened

I'm not sure whether I've mentioned this or not but I am an event planner I absolutely love planning events even in my spare time! SO I've been planning this event for a little while now and it's started to get me looking into things much more clearly which is absolutely wonderful as it will provide me with something to stand on when it comes to it.

So the event is called With Open Arms or WOA (pronounced 'WOAH') it's all about raising awareness of suicide and self harm. I've had someone I was friends with commit suicide and it hit close to home for me. So when I started actually looking into things I've realised how often it happens! Suicide and Self Harm in teenagers! It makes you wonder and you can't help but to feel for their parents, friends and families that they have left behind because they have committed suicide. It made me start to wonder what started it all, my mum has been sending me articles she finds in the news and what not and she mentioned trolls not knowing what they were as it's not well explained...

SO for those who don't know here is the term for TROLLS in the online community.

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

I've discovered that the platform Tumblr is the main source where there are people who are self harming or suicidal. They blog and post images on this page, they're calling out for help and support because they don't know who else to turn to and instead they are hit with brutal anonymous comments telling them how horrible they are, how ugly they are, how they should just kill themselves and be done with it. I am honestly completely disgusted and it makes me scared to think that my own daughter will be growing up in a world with such brutality.

The main person that has brought my attention to this is the recently deceased Olivia Penpraze who was just 19 years old, who posted on Tumblr about how she was feeling only to be confronted with hate and brutal anonymous comments which were still coming through after her death! You can read more about it all here. There is this post also, as well as Olivia's Video. It's so sad to know that someone has taken their life; cyber bullying being one of the reasons and I'm sure there's much more..

RIP Olivia and all of those who have taken their lives hopefully we can raise awareness to the youth of my area with our With Open Arms event to be held in May this year!
